N532ES‑B vs. N624PA: +31dBm & Lower TX Current – Coral RF

Issuing time:2026-05-19 17:40Author:Coral RF

Coral RF N532ES‑B vs. N624PA: The Only Real Difference Is Power and Efficiency

Both modules are built on the same TI CC1314R10 core (1 MB Flash, 256 KB RAM, 48 MHz Cortex‑M4F). Both operate in the 868/915 MHz bands. Both support AT commands out of the box. Both offer industrial temperature range and SMD packaging.

In almost every practical way, they are identical – except for one critical area: output power and power efficiency.

This short guide explains the only difference that matters.

The Core Difference: Power & Efficiency

ParameterN532ES‑BN624PA
Max Output Power+31 dBm (with VCC_PA ≥ 4.8 V)+27 dBm (fixed)
TX Current @ +27 dBm370 mA420 mA
TX Current @ +30 dBm450 mANot available
TX Current @ +31 dBm520 mANot available
Power SupplySeparate VCC_PA rail (2.3–6.0 V) + VCC (2.0–3.9 V)Single supply 2.0–3.6 V

What this means in practice:

  • If your application needs +31 dBm (the highest allowed in many regions) or you want the lowest possible TX current at +27 dBm (370 mA vs. 420 mA), choose N532ES‑B.

  • If you are fine with +27 dBm and prefer a simpler single‑voltage power design, choose N624PA.

Everything Else – Basically the Same

FeatureBoth Modules
MCUCC1314R10 (1MB Flash, 256KB RAM)
Frequency Bands868 MHz / 915 MHz
RX Current10–12 mA (negligible difference)
Sleep Current<1 µA
AT CommandsYes, pre‑flashed
Operating Temp-30°C to +75°C
Antenna InterfaceIPEX + stamp hole
Custom FirmwareFull TI SDK support on both

The RF front‑ends differ (Skyworks SKY66423 vs. TI CC1190), but for most users the observable performance at +27 dBm is nearly identical. The real‑world range difference is minimal. The decision should be based on power and efficiency, not on theoretical RF specs.

Which One Should You Pick?

Your priorityChoose
Highest possible output power (+31 dBm)N532ES‑B
Lowest TX current at +27 dBm (370 mA vs. 420 mA)N532ES‑B
Single‑voltage power supply (simpler BOM)N624PA
Everything elseEither – they are functionally equivalent

Final Verdict

  • Pick N532ES‑B when you need the extra 4 dB of link budget (+31 dBm) or you want to save 50 mA of TX current at the same +27 dBm output. The trade‑off is a slightly more complex power supply (separate VCC_PA rail).

  • Pick N624PA when +27 dBm is enough and you want the simplest possible power design (single 3.3 V rail).

Otherwise, they are the same module for all practical purposes.
