Industrial control motherboards are computer boards used for automation and industrial control, which typically operate in unattended, harsh environments, or with high requirements for power and heat pipes. When developing industrial control motherboards, the following factors need to be considered:

1、 Select model and chipset

Select the model and chipset according to the requirements, including the type of processor, chipset, NIC card, PCIe card slot, VGA, serial port, USB, display interface, etc. In addition, it is also necessary to consider the power consumption and heat dissipation of the CPU, as well as its impact on the power consumption of the motherboard.

2、 PCB design

In PCB design, wiring and material selection need to be considered, and low noise, low leakage, and high-performance components must be used. And various methods such as top and bottom anti copper are used for heat dissipation to improve stability.

3、 Heat dissipation design

For high-performance processors, heat dissipation is an important consideration. It is necessary to choose high-performance heat sinks and fans, arrange and install them reasonably, and form ventilation openings. In addition, it is also necessary to consider the noise generated during the heat dissipation process and the impact of installation on the surrounding environment.

4、 Power supply design

When choosing a power source, it is necessary to prioritize selecting low-power power sources that can meet computational needs while minimizing the burden. At the same time, it is also necessary to choose high-quality power supplies to ensure their safety, reliability, and protection of the motherboard. In power supply design, attention should also be paid to the lightning and static protection of the circuit, as well as the SMPS group control method.

5、 Reinforced components

Strengthen the fixing method of components to ensure that the board will not become loose or short circuited under harsh conditions such as vibration. This is particularly important because industrial control motherboards often need to withstand prolonged machine operation and vibration.

6、 IEC protection class

In terms of IEC protection, it is necessary to comply with relevant national IEC standards, especially industrial support standards. At the same time, attention should be paid to the selection of board IP index levels, and full consideration should be given to dust and waterproof performance.

7、 Testing

Before completing hardware testing, ensure that all connections and fixing methods are correct. To avoid hardware failures, it is necessary to conduct long running and high pressure tests, such as testing large-scale applications.

In summary, the hardware development of industrial control motherboards requires attention to various details, taking into account the usage situation in industrial environments, to ensure their stability and reliability. Therefore, in the design process, standards and specifications should be followed to design products with higher performance, safety, and reliability.
