ZigBee transmission distance

ZigBee module works in 2.4G frequency band. Taking Ti CC2530 ZigBee module as an example, this paper discusses the transmission distance of ZigBee.

The maximum transmitting power of CC2530 is 4.5dbm, the receiving sensitivity is - 96dbm and the link is 100.5dbm. Tested at the roadside, the height from the ground is 1.5m, and the open communication distance between the two CC2530 ZigBee modules is about 100m.

The CC2530 ZigBee module with PA has a maximum transmission power of 20dbm, a reception sensitivity of - 100dbm and a link of 120dbm. Tested at the roadside, the height from the ground is 1.5m, and the open communication distance between the two CC2530 ZigBee modules is about 800m.

When the air rate and communication frequency are fixed, the communication distance is closely related to the height from the ground.
